Each year, the President proclaims Constitution Week to celebrate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in September 1787.
We celebrate this week to:
Learn about the history and events that led to the Constitution.
Remember that the Constitution is the foundation of our freedoms and way of life.
Remind all citizens of their responsibility to protect and preserve this important document.
Join us for a guided walk through the historic grounds of Hillside Cemetery & Arboretum with arborist Chris Teter of Bartlett Tree Experts. Discover the beauty and stories behind our unique collection of trees.
Come rain or shine—this walk is too good to miss!
Join us this fall for a unique evening stroll through nature and history. Our Lantern Tour begins at dusk as we walk through the Wilton Land Trust’s beautiful Chestnut Meadow, guided by soft lantern light and the colors of autumn. The path will wind its way toward the historic Old Section of Hillside Cemetery, where stories from Wilton’s past come alive.
Along the way, we’ll stop at the gravestones of Revolutionary War patriots, founding families, and memorable characters who helped shape the town we know today. It’s a chance to reflect, learn, and connect with Wilton’s deep roots under the stars.
We'll finish the evening with hot cider and donuts, shared among neighbors and new friends. Please bring a flashlight and wear sturdy walking shoes.
Help beautify the cemetery!
Join us for a Daffodil Planting Workshop with the Cub Scouts at Hillside Cemetery & Arboretum on Sunday, November 9, from 2:00–3:30 p.m. Bring a shovel and gloves — we’ll provide the bulbs. Together, we’ll plant a burst of color that will brighten the grounds for years to come. For details, contact Pam Brown.
